★★★★★

Rosewood Hong Kong opened in 2019 in the Victoria Dockside development on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront — a position on the Kowloon side of Victoria Harbour that offers the defining view of the Hong Kong skyline. The property was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and carries 65 floors, making it one of the taller hotel buildings in a city that has no shortage of tall hotel buildings. What distinguishes it from the competition is not height but density: 413 rooms across 65 floors produces a room-to-floor ratio that allows ceiling heights of four metres in the standard rooms, a luxury in a city where space is priced differently from anywhere else on earth. The view from floor 45 and above across Victoria Harbour toward Hong Kong Island is, in the judgement of this publication, among the five best views from any hotel room on the planet.

The Property

Architecture & Setting

The building's design prioritises the view to the extent that almost every room faces the harbour. The lobby occupies floors two and three — an unusual configuration that delays the harbour reveal until after check-in, creating an anticipation that the designers clearly intended. The Asaya Spa on floors 39 and 40 includes an outdoor pool cantilevered over the waterfront — a pool, that is, with an infinity edge facing Victoria Harbour at height. The food and beverage programme across the property is among the most ambitious in Hong Kong: eight restaurants and bars, ranging from the Holt's Café to the Bayfare Social roof terrace. The Rosewood Residences occupy the upper floors; the distinction between a residence and an ultra-long-stay room is, at this property, largely administrative.

Service

Staff & Experience

Rosewood operates a service philosophy they term "A Sense of Place" — the intention is that every property should feel rooted in its location rather than interchangeable with others in the portfolio. In Hong Kong, this manifests as a concierge team with what appears to be unlimited access to the city's best tables, private access to cultural events, and the specific knowledge that makes a Hong Kong visit productive rather than overwhelming. The A-Spa on the dedicated spa floors provides what is, in the opinion of guests consistently, the most comprehensive wellness programme available in a Hong Kong hotel. The 24-hour butler service is a standard feature on the Rosewood Suite and above.

Among the five best views from any hotel room on the planet.

Rooms

What to Book

The entry-level Harbourview Rooms at 55 square metres are the right choice for most stays — the harbour view is the reason to be here, and the standard rooms face it directly. The Rosewood Suite at 270 square metres on an upper floor includes a private terrace with unobstructed harbour views and a separate living room that can seat twelve for a private dinner. The Manor Club floors — the hotel's executive floor concept — offer separate check-in and a private lounge with meals throughout the day. For the full harbour experience without the suite premium, the Harbourview Rooms on floors 40 through 55 represent the best value proposition at the property.

Booking

How to Book It Correctly

Rosewood Hong Kong takes reservations through the Rosewood website and through its central reservations team. The property operates at consistently high occupancy; peak periods include Chinese New Year (January/February), the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament (April), and Art Basel Hong Kong (March). The Rosewood Discovery loyalty programme provides rate benefits and room category upgrades for members. Direct booking with the hotel — rather than through third-party platforms — typically yields better room category placement and upgrade priority. The hotel's sales team manages corporate accounts and extended-stay arrangements directly.

  • 1.Specify floors 45–55 for the clearest Victoria Harbour views — lower floors have partial obscuring from neighbouring buildings.
  • 2.The Asaya Spa pool requires advance booking; book the same day you check in for best availability.
  • 3.Manor Club floor designation (included in Manor Club Rooms and above) provides the private lounge breakfast, which materially improves the stay.
